The app offers a range of measurement tools that make it ideal for both everyday use and professional applications, eliminating the need for traditional measuring tapes and rulers.
Key Features:
Line Measurement: Measure linear sizes in centimeters (cm), meters (m), feet (ft), and yards (yd). The app also allows you to apply a millimeter (mm) or inch ruler.
Distance Meter: Measure the distance from your device’s camera to a fixed point on a detected plane.
Angle Measurement: Measure angles on 3D planes accurately.
Area and Perimeter: Calculate the area and perimeter of a surface with ease.
Volume Measurement: Measure the size of 3D objects to determine their volume.
Path Measurement: Calculate the length of a path by marking points along the way.
Height Measurement: Measure the height of objects relative to the recognized surface.
In addition to the AR ruler features, the app also includes a Photo Ruler function. This tool allows you to measure the size of objects by either taking a picture of them or measuring directly on the screen. The Photo Ruler is as precise and convenient as using a traditional ruler or tape measure.
HOW TO PLAY:Download and Install:
Download the ARCore Ruler App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it on your ARCore-supported device.
Set Up the App:
Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to ensure your device’s AR capabilities are properly calibrated.
Line Measurement:
Select the "Line" option from the menu.
Point your device’s camera at the object you wish to measure, and tap on the screen to mark the start and end points of the line. The app will display the length in your chosen unit (cm, m, ft, yd).
Distance Meter:
Choose the "Distance Meter" option.
Point your camera at a fixed point on a detected plane. The app will calculate and display the distance from your device to that point.
Measure Angles:
Select the "Angle" option.
Point the camera at the object’s corner or edge to measure the angle on a 3D plane.
Area and Perimeter:
Choose "Area" to measure the surface area and perimeter.
Mark the corners of the area on your screen, and the app will calculate the area and perimeter.
Volume Measurement:
Select "Volume" from the menu.
Mark the edges of the 3D object, and the app will calculate its volume.
Use the Photo Ruler:
Open the "Photo Ruler" option and take a picture of the object you want to measure along with a Base Item (like a credit card).
Align the markers on the Base Item and the object. The app will display the measured size on the screen.
Calibration:
If measurements seem inaccurate, manually recalibrate the app using a known Base Item, such as a credit card or coin.
Review and Save:
Save your measurements directly within the app for future reference. You can also share the data via email or social media.
